Writer Eimear Ryan will read from her novel-in-progress, Arcadia, based on the life and death of Glenveagh owner, Arthur Kingsley Porter this Sunday 23rd of February at 3:00 PM in Glenveagh National Park Visitor Centre. She will discuss the process of writing and researching the novel, what first drew her to the subject, and the various problems and contradictions she has encountered while writing about this elusive figure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Glenveagh residency is in association with the Glebe Gallery, the Regional Cultural Centre and funded by Creative Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bio: Eimear Ryan is the author of a novel, Holding Her Breath (Penguin Sandycove, 2021), and a memoir, The Grass Ceiling (Penguin Sandycove, 2023). She is a co-founder and editor at Banshee Press. From Co. Tipperary, she now lives in Cork city, where she lectures in creative writing at University College Cork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
