New Signage to Celebrate Our Blue Dot River

New blue dot signage installed in Glenveagh National Park.

The National Parks and Wildlife Service Glenveagh Team were delighted to work with LAWPRO to develop and install interpretative signage to highlight the Blue Dot Catchments Programme and the Owenveagh River.

The Owenveagh River runs through the national park and is one of the blue dot rivers in County Donegal. It is home to an incredible range of macroinvertebrates such as Mayflies, Caddisflies, Dragonflies and Damselflies, which are indicators of the highest water quality.

Alarnagh Barrett McGinley From the Education Team in Glenveagh beautifully illustrated the panel which is now in place near the Fisherman’s Hut beside the river. It will form part of a series of redeveloped education panels throughout the park in the future.

If you visit the park, make sure you stop by to learn more about our precious blue dot waterbodies.
