Coordinator and Wildfire Management Officer — Glenveagh National Park

Coordinator and Wildfire Management Officer — Glenveagh National Park

PEAT+ is a project supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).

Two new posts are being recruited to help deliver the PEAT+ project at Glenveagh National Park: a Peatland Restoration Project Coordinator and a Wildfire Management Officer. Both posts will be employed by Atlantic Technological University (ATU) and will work closely with the National Parks and Wildlife Service (Glenveagh National Park).

PEAT+ is a PEACEPLUS-funded, cross-border peatland restoration partnership led by Ulster Wildlife, working with partners including ATU Donegal, local authorities in Northern Ireland and Ireland, Crichton Carbon Centre and others. The project aims to restore degraded peatlands across Northern Ireland and the border counties, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing biodiversity and supporting local communities.

Glenveagh National Park and the National Parks and Wildlife Service are associate partners in PEAT+, and these new roles will coordinate restoration works and wildfire planning for Cloghernagore Bog and Glenveagh National Park SAC.
