Weekly Walks in Mayo Dark Sky Park
Summary
Weekly free guided walks at the Mayo Dark Sky Park resume the 13th of January. Stargazing will take place if conditions allow. Remember to wrap up warm and wear sturdy shoes. Approximately 2km walking (duration 2.5 hours). For queries, contact Georgia +35386 895 5166.
Our weekly dark sky walks will resume each Friday at 8pm from 13th January 2023
Locations & Dates (8pm start):
Friday 13th, 20th, 27th January – Letterkeen Bothy
Friday 3rd February – Ballycroy Visitor Centre
Friday 10th, 17th, 24th February – Letterkeen Bothy
Friday 3rd March – Ballycroy Visitor Centre
These walks are part of an Irish Research project and you may be invited to take part in an interview whilst walking. It is intended that stargazing will take place if conditions allow, however, it is intended that these walks will provide an enjoyable opportunity to walk in nature after dark with an experienced guide.
Walks take place in most conditions (except in weather warnings) and you are advised to wrap up warm and wear sturdy shoes.
