Activities at Ballycroy Visitor Centre starting from Monday 7th of July
Wild Child Kids Club – Every Tuesday and Thursday 2pm-4pm starting on Tuesday July 8th
Booking essential : To book, please email ballycroyvisitorcentre@npws.gov.ie with your name, child’s name and age and a contact phone number. Suitable clothing advised for all weathers.
Tuesday 8th- On plants we stand, take a close look at our amazing native plants.
Thursday 10th – Hedgerow homes, take a look at the birds and plants that have made their homes in our hedgerows.
Tuesday 15th – Light Pollution, find out what light pollution is and how it effects our natural world.
Thursday 17th – Mini Beast Safari, join our guides as they explore a hidden world of amazing creatures that live all around us.
Tuesday 22nd – Our Native Trees, follow the journey of a tree, from a tiny seed to a giant in a Native woodland.
Thursday 24th- Life in a Bog Pool, journey into the dark muddy water of a pond as we pond dip and discover the amazing creatures that live in our pond.
Tuesday 29th – Wild Flowers and seed collecting, learn how to collect wild flower seeds and create your very own wild flower meadow.
Thursday 31st – How to Build a Moon Garden with Amy Bridget Flanagan, Newport Astronomy club secretary, bring colour and fragrance to your gardens this summer, while supporting our native nocturnal pollinators and giving a boost to our biodiversity.
Guided Walks – Starting Monday the 7th July
Free Guided walks along our 2km Nature Trail at 2pm every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Creating Habitats – every Saturday and Sunday at 2pm, starting on Saturday 12th, Join us for a leisurely walk and exploration of how we have created and manage different habitats, here at Ballycroy Visitor centre from native woodlands to wild meadows and so much more.
