This month’s object is a wooden heat screen. It originally belonged to Henry McIlhenny, the last private owner of Glenveagh Castle, here in Glenveagh National Park. Recent visitors to Glenveagh National Park will have noticed the ongoing work at our visitor centre. The work is addressing longstanding leaks associated with the vegetated roof, where water is damaging the fabric of the building, whilst also upgrading the roof insulation of the visitor centre.
